Microsimulations
Through the quantitative analysis of large data sources and the development and application of microsimulation models, Denisa Sologon’s research aims to contribute to the design, evaluation and improvement of public policies.
Denisa Sologon is Senior Research Scientist at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER). Her research interests involve quantitative approaches to welfare economics, in particular income inequality, income distribution dynamics, taxation, social policy and social protection, social mobility, environmental policy and health, with a special focus on the role of social, economic and policy drivers of inequality.
More especially, Denisa Sologon is developing microsimulations – for example, regarding the modification of a tax rate. Microsimulations are models that serve as tools for policymakers, offering insights into the potential impacts of their decisions on individual households. By providing evidence-based analysis, these models aid decision-makers in crafting informed policies.
Listen to Denisa Sologon to find out more about microsimulation, which provides information on the impact of policies and supports evidence-based decision making.
